Visa application to travel to Morocco

In order to travel to Morocco, the passport has to be valid at least, more than 6 six months from the travel departure date.

It may look like quite exaggerated but we know about several cases of people that were going to travel to Morocco but, at the border control, the police officer didn´t allow him/her to cross due to his/her passport expiration date was too close. For all that and for more possible inconveniences, we always reccomend to travel with a passport with a convenience expiration time frame.

Kids also need passports and, in case that they are not traveling with their parents or legal responsible person, ASIILAH MOROCCOthey will need an authorization to travel signed by their parents or responsibles in a police department office in order to not have any issue.

It would be a great idea to write on a paper the entrance number that the Maroccan police officer stamp in your passport when you cross the border line. It will be really helpful in case that you loose your passport.

I met a man from Bahamas that tooks him almost three months to get the permission to leave Morocco because he lost his passport and he never wrote the code in a paper. Now the bureaucracy processes are much better but just in case, it will be always a good thing to have your code with you.

When you arrive to the Algeciras or Tarifa port and you are getting your Fast Ferry tickets at the desk, ask for a white file card that you will need to filled with your data and bring it to the Moroccan police officer. You will need a yellow one also to leave the country, you can ask for it over there or in your way back.

In this file card you are asked for your personal data, the visit reason and your profession. Journalists have been in troubles for writting their profession, so we reccomend you to write another thing in case that you are working as a journalist.

When you are going from Spain to Morocco, you can do all the described customs paperwork inside the ship while you are crossing the strait. Inside the ship, you fill find an small office with a policeman in civilian clothes stamping the passports of everybody. We reccomend you to look for the police office at the very first moment that you are inside the ship, because long lines are really common once that everybody is on board.

For the way back, at the top part of the yellow file card needed to cross back the border., you need to write the code that the police officer stamped on your passport when you came to Morocco.
