Information about Taroudant

Information about Taroudant

Small town in the southern Morocco, which was occupied by the Almoravids in the XI century, and was also an important place in the time of the Saadi dynasty.

It lies in the valley of its river, and the locals call it the grandmother of Marrakech because of its walls resemble those of the other city and its small square is also lively every night and here are night attractions, as in Jmaa el Fna.

The city has about 70,000 inhabitants and is located on the road between Agadir to Ouarzazate. From there you can get to Marrakech across the High Atlas through the port of Tzi n Test, truly an unforgettable experience.

It has two souk. One is Berber, where you can find mostly clothing, but also spices, nuts, and household utensils. The other one is the Arab souk, where you can find carpets, leather goods, pottery, wrought iron, brass and copper handicrafts and jewelry.
